Feelings
Like for many of you, September 11 is a day of contemplation for me. 11 years later, and many of the thoughts and feelings I have that day are still with me… confusion, anger, despair. It was an act so incomprehensible that its still hard to put in words.
The Earth drowned in tears that day. It grew hot with anger. And I swear it stopped spinning on its axis as we all froze in time.
Those are just some of my feelings – today, right now. Feelings do not fit nicely into a genealogy database. Yet feelings are just as important as any facts we record. We don’t just live facts, we feel them. So on this day that brings out great emotions in all of us, I wish my global family nothing more than the freedom to contemplate, to feel, and to grow.
