Conneautville Project Update February 16, 2022

Short post today as I haven’t done a lot of genealogical research in the last few days because of the Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day, and the mysterious Ancestry.com site issues yesterday. I’m adding data from the 1959 Conneaut Valley High School yearbook today. Fortunately, the teachers have first and last names listed in this yearbook.

As for the obituaries, I’m just chugging along. There haven’t been as many new connections found between people in my database. When I add an obituary’s data, I first make the deceased the “home person” in my database. I go to the “Person” tab in Family Tree Maker and scroll down to “Set As Home Person.” This way, I can see everyone’s relationship to the deceased. When an obituary lists out-of-town people who attended the funeral, setting the home person allows me to understand those people’s connection to the deceased. But sometimes you get relationships like “half sister of wife of father-in-law of 1st cousin!”

So, stats for today: 16245 persons in my database, with 10801 with Conneautville-related life events.
